Snow passion, the best ski destinations in Europe and North America

Tuesday, 19 December 2017

Whatever the degree of skill that a skier can own,

he should never forget that his skis are, after all, only a tool,

a means by which he can enjoy the winter in all its glory and strenght,

breathing the fresh air and meeting other human beings in their real nature,

and forgetting all the problems that affect our miserable society.

These are just some of the reasons why skiing isn’t only a sport – it’s a way of life.

These words belong to Otto Schniebs, an alpine skiing pioneer, who was born in Esslingen am Neckar (Germany) on 1892 and died in Wilmington (New York, USA) on 1971. Schniebs has founded one of the first ski schools in the USA and has written the first didactic book on what he considered not just a sport, but a way of life indeed.

In homage to Schniebs, we want to start our focus with the best ski destinations in North America, selected by the ZRankings experts through an algorithm named PAF (Pure Awesomeness Factor). This one is based on elements such as the quality and the quantity of snow, the ease of accessibility to the ski piste, their slope and dimensions, the place’s nature and atmosphere.

Before listing the destinations and providing you useful sources to learn more about them, we want to wish to you all, travel agents and tour operators, a Merry Christmas 2017 and a 2018 full of satisfaction, and also we want to thank you for having confirmed your trust in 6tour.com and helped to support our portal.
