To Germany for 100 years of Bauhaus

Friday, 22 February 2019

Bauhaus celebrates its Centenary and Germany celebrates it with 600 events. The German National Tourist Board (GNBT) acted and went big to celebrate the Centenary of the design, architecture and art school, founded in 1919 in Weimar by Walter Gropius.

GNBT is strongly supported by the Bauhaus Association 2019, that collects the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung in Berlin, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar, the German Federal Government and the eleven federal states (Hamburg; Hesse; Baden-Württemberg; Lower Saxony; Berlin; Brandenburg; North Rhine-Westphalia; Rhineland-Palatinate; Saxony; Saxony-Anhalt; Thuringia).

Actually, the Bauhaus Association 2019 website is the institutional source that we suggest you to check and follow, in order to know the programme and to find starting points for destinations and itineraries to propose to your clients. The section Travel is particularly interesting, since there are suggestions of the destinations where the Bauhaus was imagined, was born and grew.

From the same section, it’s possible to reach the website Grand Tour of Modernism, useful to discover the Bauhaus expressions and the modernismo in the whole German territory. Although the Bauhaus school worked first in Weimar (from 1919 to 1925), then in Dessau (from 1925 to 1932) and lastly in Berlin (dal 1932 al 1933), and its activity didn’t last for more than 14 years, its proofs are visible everywhere in Germany (and all over the world).

Enjoy your work with 6tour!
